The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly?

After looking over our favorite potential house for a while, I think we've really found a great place. However, I don't know that we'll actually be able to get it. The sellers want way too much for it, well over what it's worth, and I'm just not willing to overpay for a house no matter how much I like it.

Guess we'll try seeing if they're willing to put a more reasonable price on the table.

Meanwhile, there's still a nice place that's just far enough out to give me second thoughts, and a lot of places we still haven't looked at. So rather than focus too much attention on a place we may not get, I'm going back to the drawing board, under the assumption it won't happen.

For all they say it's a buyers market, and in many respects it is, it's still not just a walk into a realtor's office and buy a house in a couple hours. Of course, I suppose it never will be that easy if you actually care where you live.

Oh, and the bank finally did get back to us... and we're good. That's a load off.
